Child & Family Therapy
Support for your child. Strength for your family.
Themes of Therapy provides therapy for children ages 6+, teens, and families in Henderson, Nevada, with telehealth available throughout Nevada when appropriate.
What is Child & Family Therapy?
Children often communicate differently than adults. Their emotions may show up through behavior, play, avoidance, conflict, physical complaints, or changes at home or school.
Child and family therapy provides a developmentally appropriate space to help children understand emotions, build skills, strengthen relationships, and navigate difficult experiences.
Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. Depending on the child's needs, therapy may include individual work with the child, caregiver consultation, family sessions, or a combination of approaches.

What Therapy May Look Like
Therapy is tailored to the family and child's age, developmental level, personality, and needs. With younger clients, sessions may incorporate play, creativity, movement, games, storytelling, and experiential activities. Older children and teens may use more conversation-based approaches while still incorporating creative or practical tools.
Goals are developed collaboratively with children and caregivers and focus on meaningful changes that can be noticed in daily life.
Caregiver involvement may include helping parents better understand patterns, strengthen communication, respond to difficult emotions, and reinforce skills outside of sessions.
